PSG all set to sign Javier Pastore

Paris Saint Germain director Leonardo has revealed that the club hopes to conclude the record signing of Javier Pastore in the coming days.

PSG have beaten Chelsea to the signature of the Palermo playmaker, who is due to complete a €40million-plus move to the French capital.

Palermo have already confirmed a deal is in place, and now PSG sporting director Leonardo has confirmed the move is imminent.

"Pastore is not officially our player yet", Leonardo told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"And until the end of the negotiations you can never consider discount anything.

"But the good relationship with Palermo allow us to think positively.

"I count on being able to present Pastore in the first days of the week."

Bologna seal Diamanti deal

Bologna have won the race to sign midfielder Alessandro Diamanti.

The 28-year-old, who won his only Italy cap last year, has been linked with a number of clubs after he was relegated with Brescia last season term.

Serie A rivals Sampdoria and Fiorentina had both reportedly been chasing the former West Ham player, but Bologna confirmed his signature this evening.

"Bologna FC 1909 is able to communicate that we have have reached an agreement with Brescia Calcio for the transfer of Alessandro Diamanti on a co-ownership deal," a statement on the club's official website, www.bolognafc.it.

Jeffren Suarez nears Sporting move

Barcelona winger Jeffren Suarez is on the verge of signing for Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, the player's father and representative has confirmed.

The Spain Under-21 international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Nou Camp with a host of Spanish and foreign clubs interested in the player.

On Monday it was reported that Portuguese side Sporting had secured an agreement in principle to sign the player for a fee of around €5million. Barca supposedly inserted a buy-back option into the deal.

The player's father Efren Suarez appeared to reveal the news in a separate interview with a different media outlet, A BOLA.

"Things are going in a really nice direction; there are only a few details about the deal left," Suarez told A BOLA.

Jeffren made his debut for Barca in the Copa del Rey in the 2006/07 season but failed to cement his place in the side and has only managed a further 34 appearances since. The 23-year-old made 13 appearances for Barca in all competitions last season, netting only one goal.
