Cavani ruled out for Inter clash
Napoli will have to do without ace striker Edinson Cavani in their upcoming Serie A match against Inter Milan.
The Uruguayan was injured during the second half of Napoli's 2-0 Champions League win against Spanish outfit Villarreal on Tuesday, and has lost the race to be fit in time to face Inter, according to reports from La Corriere dello Sport.
The striker scored his Napoli's vital second goal to kill off the La Liga side, but paid the price as tests on Wednesday morning showed he suffered a sprained ankle.
Reports further indicate that the 24-year-old may not be ready for selection for at least two weeks, as the full extent of his injury is still unknown.
This will upset Uruguay, as he is expected to miss their 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Paraguay.
Danny keen to prove his worth
Danny Welbeck is determined to repay boss Sir Alex Ferguson's trust in him and become the latest local lad to make good in a Manchester United shirt.
The 20-year-old was picked by Ferguson to lead the attack against Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday - ahead of the club's record signing Berbatov - and responded with two goals in an 80-second spell.
Welbeck's display was one of the few positives for Ferguson in the 3-3 draw which highlighted some defensive frailty for United, and the England striker is desperate for more opportunities to prove his worth.
Welbeck said: "The manager shows time and time again he will give local players a chance and it is then up to the individual to take it. I hope I can.
"I don't know whether it is harder for local boys up front to make it. I can only look at myself and take my opportunities when they come.
"To score those two goals was a bittersweet moment for me. To get two Champions league goals, I am buzzing about that, but we didn't get the win we should have done.
"I hope I have done enough to play against Norwich. We have some great strikers at the club and whoever is in there will give it 100%. I just hope I get my chances."
Welbeck had a successful loan spell at Sunderland last year but believes he is still developing.
"I think I'm a better person than a year ago because I went to Sunderland and got more minutes in the Premier League," he added.
"It was really good for my career and I'm just really pleased at the moment. Naturally I've been growing, I'm still only 20 years old, I'm 21 in a couple of months so I'm just naturally developing into a man."
Jonny Evans takes on more responsibility
Defender Jonny Evans knows this season could prove to be a crucial step in his Manchester United career.
Evans has been enjoying a more senior role in the Red Devils defence where he has been playing alongside the likes of youngsters Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
"I guess I'm still classed in the young bracket but I do have a bit of experience," Evans told United Review.
"And, when I'm on the pitch, I want to try and help some of the newer faces.
"It's my fourth season at the club since I went out on loan at Sunderland, so I feel like there's advice I should be trying to pass on to the young guys.
"I can't just sit back and continue to let other people show me the ropes. I've been here long enough to be beyond that point now."
Evans also revealed that he prefers to keep a low profile and does not pay interest to what the critics have to say about his performances - unless it's his boss Sir Alex Ferguson doing the talking.
"There's always been stiff competition here and Phil Jones joining the club certainly hasn't made me think any differently," he said.
"I've just made sure I've got my head down and I've worked really hard.
"I've never been one for craving attention. If I know that I've given 100 per cent, then that's all that matters. I don't really listen to what other people might be saying - good or bad - about my performances. Of course, the opinion that really counts is the manager's."
Evans career at Old Trafford came under inspection after a poor start to last campaign and he has been in good nick for United so far, although an ankle injury did rule him out of the recent Premier League clash with Stoke City and Champions League draw with Basel.
