European Champions Barcelona continue their progress in this year’s Champions League with a clinical performance against German outfit Bayer Leverkusen. Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for the visitors in the 40th minute and went on to score a double and Lionel Messi scored the third for the Catalan giants. Home side had a consolation goal scored by Kadlec in the 51st minute.
Lyon 1 – 0 Apoel Nicosia
Apoel the first Cypriot side to reach the knockout stages of the completion had a decent game against French giants Lyon. Lacazette scored the lone goal of the match in the 58th minute and the home side went on to win the game and kept their hopes alive to reach the last 8 stage of Champions League
