Real agrees Emirates deal

Real Madrid President confirmed the five-year sponsorship deal with Emirates.

The deal, which was announced at a press conference at Madrid's Bernabeu stadium today, will see the Dubai-based airline become a "partner and official airline to the club."

Madrid president Florentino Perez said: "I'm especially pleased with this partnership between two global brands and leaders.

"I think that we are at the beginning of an intense relationship that will bring the club closer to the millions of fans that it has around the world."

Genoa agree deal for Sebastien Frey

Genoa have agreed a deal to sign French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey from Fiorentina, the player is subject to a medical.

The 31-year-old shot stopper has agreed a five-year contract with Genoa, and will join for an undisclosed fee.

"Sebastien Frey will be the new goalkeeper of The Griffin," said a statement on Genoa's website. "President Enrico Preziosi has reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer of the French goalkeeper.

"The ratification of the deal will be completed next week after a medical.

"Frey was highly motivated to join the club and strongly wanted to be a member of The Griffin, agreeing to reduce his wages, in order to re-start his career with Genoa."

Genoa will be Frey's fifth Italian Serie A club after spells with Inter Milan, Verona, Parma and Fiorentina.

Schalke sign Ciprian Marica

Schalke have signed forward Ciprian Marica on free transfer, a fortnight after his contract at Stuttgart was cancelled.

The 25-year-old Romania international has signed a two-year deal at the Royal Blues.

"He knows the Bundesliga, speaks many languages and, above all, is a free transfer," said Schalke's sporting director Horst Heldt.

"We are happy the transfer has come off, because several well-known European clubs were also very interested in signing the player."

Marica's Stuttgart contract, which had been due to expire next summer, was terminated by mutual consent earlier this month.
