Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique will miss the European Super Cup against Portuguese outfit FC Porto on Friday after being ruled out for three weeks with a calf injury.
The 24-year-old was injured during training Tuesday afternoon, and his absence will likely force manager Pep Guardiola to play someone out of position on Friday night in Monaco.
Full back Eric Abidal, defensive midfielders Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano are all candidates to play in defence along with youngster Andreu Fontas.
