LIVERPOOL SIGNS CHARLIE ADAM

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish's pursuit of midfielder Charlie Adam finally paid off after a new bid was accepted by Blackpool.

King Kenny twice tried to sign the Scotland international in January only to have an offer of £6.5million rejected as the Seasiders effectively held on to their captain.

After several weeks of negotiations both parties have settled for £9million deal and the player passed his medical at the Anfield on Wednesday. As part of the contract Blackpool are likely to get at least one fringe player from Liverpool.

Adam is Dalglish's second signing of the summer, after Jordan Henderson's £16million move from Sunderland. Adam was Blackpool’s leading goal scorer last season. He is well known for his goal scoring ability and accurate passes.Adam’s partnership with captain Gerrard will makes Liverpool even more dangerous for the opponents.

The Scotland international was one of the nominee for PFA Players’ Player of the year in April 2011.
