AC Milan have apparently joined Roma in the race for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio.
Roma are set for a summer of upheaval following the takeover by American businessman Thomas DiBenedetto, who has already announced he will be looking to spend big money in a bid to return the Giallorossi to the top of Italian football.
The capital city club have identified Marchisio as a possible transfer target, and are looking to use him as a makeweight in the deal which could see Montenegrin forward Mirko Vucinic move in the opposite direction.
However, it now appears that Roma are facing a fight on their hands, with Milan keen on bringing Marchisio to the San Siro.
The Milan hierarchy has already revealed on a number of occasions that a top-class midfielder is top on their shopping list, following the departure of veteran playmaker Andrea Pirlo on a free transfer to Juventus.
Marchisio is most natural when deployed in a holding midfield position yet has the technical abilities to dictate play and will be an ideal signing.
