Wesley Sneijder agrees terms for United move

Manchester United look set to complete the £35million transfer of Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder after he agreed terms of around £190,000-a-week.

The Daily Mail has reported that the Barclays Premier League champions moved closer to securing the signature of the Holland international after the 27-year-old reached an agreement over his wages.

Sneijder initially demanded salary of £250,000-a-week, but has reportedly settled for £190,000-a-week after negotiations. The deal is said to be close to completion.

United Chief executive David Gill met Inter Milan executives at a meeting of the European Club Association while the rest of the team continues their pre-season tour in America.

Gill is reportedly have made an unofficial £35million offer and will follow it up with an official bid before this weekend. Inter are said to be reluctant to sell their star midfielder but the offer has seemingly proved too good for them to turn down.

Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to strengthen the United midfield following release of Owen Hargreaves and the retirement of Paul Scholes.

If the deal goes through, Sneijder's arrival will take the Red Devil's summer transfer spending past the £80million mark, as he follows AtleticosDavid de Gea, BlackburnsPhil Jones and Aston villasAshley Young into the Theatre of Dreams.
